YMCA Gisborne
YMCA Gisborne has been running holiday programmes in the Gisborne region for over 46 years, and is the largest provider in early childcare, after school care, holiday programmes and youth programmes in the Gisborne/Tairawhiti region.
Programmes will be available for both age groups, 11-13 year olds, and 14-17 year olds. Programmes run at various locations on:
- Tuesday 5th January to Friday 9th January 2010
- Monday 11th January to Friday 15th January 2010
- Monday 18th January to Friday 22nd January 2010
- Monday 25th January to Friday 29th January 2010
Holiday programmes will be located:
- Tokomaru Bay YMCA
- Waikohu College, Te Karaka
- Churchill Park, Marine Parade, Gisborne
- Kaiti YMCA, Wainui Road, Gisborne
- Ilminister Intermediate, De Lautour Road, Gisborne
Young people will be participating in activities that will raise awareness in self growth, identity and self/cultural awareness and stereotyping, communication and decision making, healthy lifestyle, self and environment, lateral thinking and problem solving, confidence, self worth and empowerment.
Activities include; sports activities, beach fun with surfing, surf lifesaving and beach volleyball and beach soccer and swimming.
