YMCA Auckland

YMCA Auckland has been running holiday programmes in Auckland for over 40 years for 7-15 year olds. They will be delivering Break-Away holiday programmes for 14-17 year olds. Young people will be participating in activities that will raise awareness in self growth, identity and self/cultural awareness and stereotyping, communication and decision making, healthy lifestyle, self and environment, lateral thinking and problem solving, confidence, self worth and empowerment.

Activities include; sport, team building challenges, arts, music, and dance.

Programmes will run from:

  • Monday 11th to Friday 15th January 2010
  • Monday 18th to Friday 22nd January 2010
  • Monday 25th to Friday 29th January 2010
  • And both weeks in April holidays

Programmes are located at:

  • Lagoon Stadium, 44 Lagoon Drive, Panmure
  • Mangere Bridge and Papatoetoe programme – Sir David Laing Park, Manuakau Youthline, Old Papatoetoe fire station (Luann Ave Manukau), Ambary farm (Mangere Bridge)
  • Waitakere – Parrs Park, Royal Heights, Starling Park (west Harbour and North Henderson)
  • Onegunga and Otahuhu – Seaside Park and Memorial fields Otahuhu, Organga (Fergusson reserve Sir William Jordan Recreation centre, Peace Street, Onehunga)
