Te Whanau o Waipareira Trust

Te Whanau O Waipareira Trust will be delivering holiday programmes to whanau in Waitakere City. Young people attending the programme will be given the opportunity to have input into the activities provided. Information presentations from industry experts on work and qualifications, and health and social service practitioners on subjects specific to the age group will help them with appropriate knowledge, skills and strategies to cope with challenges in life. This programme is marae based and targets 11-17 year olds.

Activities include; top town, arts and crafts (including graffiti art), sport including a touch tournament, swimming and netball, and hip hop dance. Lunches are provided and programmes run from 10am to 4 pm each day.

Programmes will be run on:

  • Monday 11th January to Friday 15th January 2010
  • Monday 18th January to Friday 22nd January 2010
  • Monday 25th January to Friday 29th January 2010

Groups will be split into 11-13 year olds (boys and girls split), 14-15 year olds (boys and girls split) and 16-17 year olds (mixed).
