Proud2BManukau
Proud2BManukau is running two sport focused holiday programmes in the Manukau area. One focused on Rugby and the other Boxing, both will run two programmes per school holiday, one programme for the 11-13 year olds and one for the 14-17 year olds. Parents are able to attend the programme on the first day to see what it is about and how it is being delivered. Staff are trained in the sport and lead by qualified instructors.
Vili’s boxing programme
This programme is headed by Ofisa Vili (former NZ Welterweight champion as an ametuer) who owns the boxing only gym in Manurewa, South Auckland. The boxing programme is based upon a current format used to train James Cook High School and Manurewa High School students.
- Monday – boxing introduction/ground rules
- Tuesday – Skills/technique
- Wednesday – bag work and weights
- Thursday – agility/speed
- Friday - sparring

Rugby holiday programme
Manukau Rovers RFC have developed the Rugby holiday programme.
Skills developed and activities covered: catching and passing, ball skills, evasive running/kicking, speed, aerobic (beep test), agility, Speed Agility Quickness (SAQ) education, nutrition profile sheets, ruck/maul, decision making and game sense, Core conditioning and flexibility education and practice, Forwards and Backs specifics, tackle session (technique, body position, point of contact), and phase defense.
This programme is located at the Manukau Rovers Football Club on Viscount Street, Mangere.
