Strengthening Families

Strengthening Families is a community-based initiative that helps families / whānau get access to the services they need.

Strengthening Families brings together a family and all the agencies that have a part to play in helping that family. Together, the family and agencies develop an action plan that reflects the family's needs.

The aim of Strengthening Families is to shift the focus from crisis intervention to providing early support to families, so as to prevent difficult situations from escalating.

Strengthening Familes is a whole-of-government initiative administered by Family and Community Services.

Practice Guidelines

Service specifications, which used to be part of the contract, have now been repackaged into easy to read guidelines. These are to be read alongside contracts as best practice ways to deliver each service.
