Managing Well

Managing Well is a catalogue that lists practical organisational resources to make it easy for those running or setting up a community organisation or project to find information and resources.

Managing Well - resources for community and voluntary organisations

Community resource kit

The catalogue lists a wide range of topics from funding, running meetings or planning projects to governance and financial management.

The catalogue is divided into two parts:

  • Part 1 lists written resources, websites, newsletters, manuals, information sheets and other documents that provide information related to running an organisation. Resources are listed by topic.
  • Part 2 lists organisations that can help build capacity by providing support to the community and voluntary sector. Organisations are divided into national and regional/local sections and listed by type.

The first edition of the catalogue is a work in progress. We invite suggestions for further information and resources (link to suggestions for listing page) that could be listed in the next edition of the catalogue.

Managing Well Online is hosted by the Community Net Aotearoa website and you can also access the contents here:

Suggestions and feedback

We are planning to improve and update the Managing Well catalogue in the future. Tell us what you think needs to be included in this catalogue such as manuals, guides, toolkits, newsletters, information sheets, books, other publications, cd's, videos, websites, advisory support and organisations.

We also welcome feedback from the community and voluntary sector about:

  • resources you use that you think might be useful to other organisations
  • support that you would like to see developed
  • gaps you have identified in the information and resources available to community and voluntary organisations.

Suggestions or feedback can be made using the suggestion form:

Acknowledgements

Many people and organisations shared their ideas and knowledge about resources that could be included in Managing Well. Without them this resource could not have been produced.

In particular we would like to acknowledge the following organisations for their contributions: Department of Internal Affairs, New Zealand Federation of Voluntary Welfare Organisations, North Shore Community and Social Services Inc and Saints Information Limited.
