New Name for the National Directory

Family and Community Services online directory of family support services is getting a new name. The National Directory, which lists over 5,500 community-based organisations will now be called the Family Services Directory.

Paul Russ, Family and Community Services Information Manager said that the impetus to get a new name was linked to the redevelopment of the FACS website.

"We had an opportunity to improve the look and feel of the directory and came up with a name that better reflects not only the type of organisation listed on the Directory but who the Directory is for," he said.

The Family Services Directory lists services by region.  Users can browse the organisation’s name or search by service type.  It is the only Directory of its type that provides listings right across New Zealand.

"All sorts of people who need to support on a family-related issue can access the Family Services Directory and find a service to help them anywhere in New Zealand," said Paul.
