Setting a World-Class Example

The international research firm Institute for Public Service Value will feature a New Zealand initiative in an upcoming research project. Community-based initiative Strengthening Families will be one of the projects showcased as a best-practice example of improving social and economic outcomes for citizens.

The London-based institute, research arm of global management consulting firm Accenture, conducts research aimed at helping public service organisations address the whole-of-life needs of individuals and families.

The institute's latest project will include a case study on Strengthening Families: an initiative that brings families together with all the agencies that can help them.

"Strengthening Families is one of the most innovative examples we've seen of bringing agencies together around the whole-of-life needs of citizens," says research project leader Rob Coffey.

The institute expects to publish its report this spring.

Strengthening Families is facilitated by the Ministry of Social Development's Family and Community Services.
