About us
Family and Community Services is the part of the Ministry of Social Development that supports families and communities to be strong, well informed and to connect with each other.
Family and Community Services works at a both a national and regional level and covers all geographical areas in New Zealand.
We employ approximately 140 staff, located in four regional offices and at a national office in Wellington.
The Council works with us to develop shared views about the needs and place of families, and the policies and services to support them.
Te Moemoeā - our dream for families underlies all the work we do at FACS.
Family and Community Services strategic plan sets out how we will contribute to Government priorities.
