Families and whanau are strong and richly interconnected with their communities. They are able to support their members' wellbeing, identity, participation in society and interdependence.
Family and Community Services leads the coordination and alignment of government programmes and services that help families.
Our work includes:
- providing families and communities with better information about and access to family support services
- leading a services planning and coordinated funding process across government agencies and communities
- coordinating and implementing programmes that build family capacity and development
- coordinating and implementing programmes to prevent family violence.
