Local Services Mapping: Northcote
Northcote is located on Auckland’s North Shore. Rising rental and house prices have forced some low-income families to move elsewhere to find more affordable housing. In the past 10 years, Northcote has become popular with new immigrant and refuge families. Many new settlers experience social isolation, compounded by a lack of public transport in the area.
This report was LSM’s first and was compiled under the banner of Auckland Sustainable Cities programme. It was also the first stage of Northcote Child and Youth Development Project: a collaborative project to support children and young people in Northcote community.

Priority areas for action in Northcote:
- Improving social, economic, environmental, and cultural outcomes for children and young people by improving the social services that target these groups.
