Local Services Mapping: Grey District
Grey District is situated on the west coast of the South Island and is centred around the town of Greymouth. The district is rich in history and character. Key industries are tourism, mining, agriculture, fishing, manufacturing and services industries.
Overall, the district has an energetic and positive attitude about the direction of its community.
The aim of the Grey District Community Profile is to identify issues that the community considers to be priorities, and to identify responses to address these priorities.
The community has identified several priorities for improving family wellbeing in the Grey District:

- Social/family issues
- Education
- Environment
- Cultural diversity and social change.
