Healthy kids
When a child is fit and healthy, it helps them do what they do best – play! While most adults struggle with the idea of regular exercise, to our kids it comes naturally. Hours spent playing games like hide-and-go-seek, sports and other games all go a long way to establishing healthy energy levels. As we all know, exercise along is not enough for a growing child. We need to make sure our kids also have healthy eating habits and know how to take care of themselves, so that they can make healthier decisions.
Energise! Teaching kids to be active
Swimming, biking, playing sport, or even just walking the dog are fun ways for kids to stay healthy. If you join in, you may be surprised to find your muscles toning up as well - swinging across the monkey bars with your child is a great way to weight-lift!
Encourage your child to experiment with different types of physical activity. Talk to their school about what sports teams and clubs they offer. Ask your child if they would like to try a sport, a dance class or karate. It doesn’t have to be expensive – dance around the living room, or get books on different sports out of the library. See what grabs your child’s interest.
