Strengthening Families Local Management Groups
Local Management Groups (LMGs) oversee the Strengthening Families initiative at the local level.
Strengthening Families is a community-based approach that helps families/whānau get access to the services that they need. Strengthening Families brings together the family and all the agencies that have a part to play in helping that family. It's an example of what's possible when agencies work together for families.
LMG's comprise representatives from most government departments working in the area, plus representatives from other community agencies, including the district health board, iwi/Māori organisations and NGOs and community groups.
LMGs are uniquely placed to use their local collaborative case management experiences to identify gaps in services and to provide regional and national policy makers with advice on ways to fill these gaps.
