Local services mapping: Kaipara
Travelling from east to west in the upper North Island, Kaipara is a district of contrasts and spectacular scenery. Residents and visitors enjoy the magic of the east coast settlement of Mangawhai, the peacefulness of New Zealand’s largest harbour – Kaipara Harbour – and the wild beauty of the west coast beaches.
This report is the result of a consultative planning process carried out by ‘Access to Services’, a working group of community and government agency representatives established by the Kaipara District Council’s Community Outcomes Steering Group. The consultation involved community forums in Dargaville, Mangawhai and Maungaturoto, responses to a community provider questionnaire, and meetings with stakeholders.
